Description: First Street Gallery Art Center is founded on the proposition that human potential for creativity and artistic expression is not limited by physical or intellectual challenges. Through cultivation of artistic expression, people with significant challenges can develop creatively and make important contributions to the cultural and economic life of their communities. First Street Gallery Art Center provides its clients with professional art training and exhibition resources. In the Centers studio, artists create original works of art in a range of media including: painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture and collage. First Streets staff is made up of professional artists whose role it is to help facilitate these projects and provide guidance when needed. In addition to our art-based endeavors, First Street also provides vital training for community integrated activities through volunteering and other off-site opportunities. An integral part of the programming at First Street Gallery Art Center is the gallery. First Street operates a professional gallery where every artist has an opportunity to display and sell his/her work. The exhibition schedule includes approximately five shows per year, most of which are dedicated to showing solely client work. However, First Street also involves community members and guest artists through public workshops and collaborative projects. First Street artists also participate in many off-site exhibitions, both nationally and internationally. It is not only the Gallerys goal to get as much exposure and recognition as possible for our artists work, but also to assist our clients in promoting and advocating for their own professional art careers. Artists earn a 60% commission on art sales.

Hours: M-F
The gallery is also open on some Friday evenings for Exhibition receptions from 6-8pm
